Lejre Museum is included on the Discover card, not Hop. It closes for the winter, opening from April to October and during the February school holiday.
The Discover card covers the museum and the train out. It does not publish an adult admission price, so there is no figure on this page — and the calendar matters more here than the cost.
A village museum holding one object most national collections would want, in the landscape the Danish kings came from. Allow an hour.
A Viking Age silver figurine showing a seated figure flanked by two ravens, read as Odin on his throne. No second example of it exists anywhere, which makes a village museum an hour from Copenhagen the only place on earth to see it.
Lejre is where the Danish royal seat sat before Roskilde, and where the Beowulf hall is placed. The museum is about that landscape rather than a general survey, which is a narrower and more interesting proposition.
Lejre Land of Legends is the working, walk-through version of the same period, minutes away and on the same card. The museum holds the real objects; the other shows you the life they came out of.
The opening calendar is the most restrictive on the card, and this page carries no price. Confirmed against lejremuseum.dk.
About 45 minutes west of Copenhagen by train, in Lejre village. All of it is on the Discover card.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
Forty-three hectares of Stone Age, Iron Age, Viking and nineteenth-century settlements, worked by staff living the period.
The burial church of the Danish monarchy since the fifteenth century, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Roskilde's own history, on the walk between the cathedral and the Viking ships.
The Discover card includes the museum and the train out to Lejre, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport across the Capital Region. Check the season before you travel.
The Copenhagen Card Discover covers entry, and the train to Lejre with it. The museum does not publish an adult admission price — the only figure published anywhere is a group rate — so this page states none. The Hop card excludes Lejre entirely.
It closes on Mondays through the season, apart from weeks 14, 22 and 42. The bigger constraint is the year: open 1 April to 31 October, Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 4pm, and closed from November to March except the February school-holiday week.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the desk and walk in. The train to Lejre is covered on the same card, so there is nothing to buy at either end of the journey.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single visit per card. Lejre Land of Legends nearby counts as its own attraction and its own scan, which is what makes the village worth a whole day.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
