Baadfarten is included on the Discover card, not Hop. It runs lake boat trips north of Copenhagen from May to September, with a round trip of about 75 minutes.
The Discover card covers the boats and the train out to Lyngby. No fare is published for the trip, which is worth saying before anything else.
Lake boats north of Copenhagen, running the same water since the 1890s. About 75 minutes for the round trip, and quieter than anything in the harbour.
Princess Alexandrine was built in 1895 and Prince Christian in 1896, and both are still in service. Whatever else is on the card, very little of it is a working object from the 1890s that you get to sit inside for an hour and a quarter.
The route runs across Lyngby Sø, along Mølleåen and out onto Bagsværd Sø, and each lake has several landings. You can ride the whole 75-minute circuit or step off partway and pick the next boat up, which is how most people use it.
There is no commentary. The captain and the host will answer questions if you ask them, but nobody narrates the lakes at you. After a few days of museums and audio guides that turns out to be the point rather than an omission.
A short season, a similarly named product that is not your card, and one starting point that is better than the other. Confirmed against stromma.com.
Lyngby is about 25 minutes north of Copenhagen by train. Board at Lyngby station or, better, at Sorgenfrivej. All of it is on the Discover card.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
Historic Danish farms and houses moved onto open ground at Frilandsmuseet, part of the National Museum.
The Nordic region’s largest classic car centre, with more than 300 cars across 25,000 square metres.
French and Danish painting in a country house with a Zaha Hadid extension, and an art park in the grounds.
The Discover card includes Baadfarten and the train out to Lyngby, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport across the Capital Region.
The Discover card covers the lake boats on Lyngby Sø, Mølleåen and Bagsværd Sø, and the train out with it. The operator does not publish a fare, so this page states no figure. The operator’s own season card is a separate product, not your card. The Hop card covers none of it.
The boats run every day in season, Mondays included, from May to September. Outside those months there is no service at all. The Open Air Museum and Classic Car House are near the same station if you are up here out of season.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the landing and step aboard. Starting at Sorgenfrivej rather than Lyngby station puts a refreshment stop before departure, which is worth knowing before a 75-minute round trip.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single trip per card. Within it you may hop on and off at the landings along all three lakes, so the 75 minutes can be broken up rather than taken in one sitting.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
