The Rock Museum is included on the Discover card, not Hop. It is in Roskilde, and it opens on Mondays during Danish school holidays and public holidays.
The Discover card covers the museum and the train out to Roskilde. It publishes no adult admission price, which is worth explaining before the rest.
Eleven sections on seventy years of pop, rock and youth culture, next door to the field the Roskilde Festival happens in. Allow between one and a half and three hours.
The eleven sections run from the 1950s onward and are about what young people did as much as what they listened to. That is a wider subject than a music museum usually takes on, and it is why the range of time people spend here is so wide.
A gold-toned box by MVRDV and COBE, opened in April 2016, in the Musicon district on the edge of the permanent Roskilde Festival site. Standing outside it in an empty field in October is its own kind of visit.
It is Rockmuseet now, was Danmarks Rockmuseum, and is still widely called RAGNAROCK. All three names are in use, so signs, tickets and search results will not agree with each other — they are the same place.
A Monday rule that works in your favour, and one figure this page will not state. Confirmed against museumragnarock.dk.
Roskilde is 26 minutes west of Copenhagen by train, then a bus out to Musicon — about 35 minutes in all, and covered on Discover.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
Five original eleventh-century Viking ships raised from the fjord, with a boatyard building sailable reconstructions beside them.
The burial church of the Danish monarchy since the fifteenth century — forty kings and queens, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Roskilde's own history, on the walk between the cathedral and the fjord.
The Discover card includes the museum and the train out to Roskilde, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport across the Capital Region.
The Copenhagen Card Discover covers entry to all eleven sections, and the train to Roskilde with it. The museum publishes only a group rate for fifteen or more and no adult admission price, so this page states no figure. The Hop card excludes Roskilde entirely.
It closes on Mondays for most of the year, but opens on Mondays during Danish school holidays and on public holidays — which is when a family is most likely to need it. Otherwise the hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, with Wednesdays to 8pm.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the desk and walk in. Note the venue answers to three names — Rockmuseet, RAGNAROCK and Danmarks Rockmuseum — so signage and search results may not match.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single visit per card. Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum in the same town each count as their own attraction and their own scan.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
