The Øresund Aquarium is included on the Discover card, not Hop. It is in Helsingør, near Kronborg, and has touch pools for both children and adults.
The Discover card covers the aquarium and the train to Helsingør. There is no admission price on this page, because the aquarium does not publish one.
A saltwater aquarium about the strait outside its own windows, run by the University of Copenhagen. Allow an hour.
There are two. The children’s pool holds crabs, sea stars and flatfish; the adult pool holds rays and small sharks. Putting a hand in the second one is not a thing most aquariums let you do, and it is the reason to come rather than an extra.
This is a university collection about the strait the town sits on rather than a general aquarium of tropical fish. What is in the tanks is what is in the water outside, which makes the ferries crossing to Sweden read differently on the way home.
Kronborg is a castle and the Maritime Museum is a design piece in a dry dock. Both are magnificent and neither is aimed at a seven-year-old. This is the stop that makes the trip work for a family, and it is on the same card.
What this page cannot tell you, and how it fits the Helsingør day. Details confirmed against oresundsakvariet.ku.dk and the card issuer's listing.
Helsingør is 46 minutes north of Copenhagen by train, and the aquarium is near the northern harbour. All of it is on the Discover card.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
Hamlet's castle on the point where the Øresund narrows — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with casemates beneath it.
Denmark’s maritime history built underground around an empty dry dock beside Kronborg, designed by BIG.
Aircraft, cars and the history of Danish engineering in a large hall on the edge of Helsingør.
The Discover card includes the aquarium and the 46-minute train from Copenhagen, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport across the Capital Region. Kronborg and the Maritime Museum are on the same card and the same trip.
The Copenhagen Card Discover covers entry, including both touch pools, and the train to Helsingør with it. The aquarium does not publish an adult admission price, so this page states no figure. The Hop card excludes Helsingør entirely — it does not cover day trips.
The Monday rule is not published anywhere we can check, so this page does not claim it either way. Check before travelling, since Helsingør is a 46-minute train each way. Kronborg nearby opens Mondays from May to October and closes them the rest of the year.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the desk and walk in. The train to Helsingør is covered on the same card, so there is nothing to buy at either end of the journey.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single visit per card. Kronborg and the Maritime Museum in the same town each count as their own attraction and their own scan, which is what makes Helsingør a full day.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
