The Heerup Museum is included on the Discover card, not Hop. Adult entry is €9 (70 DKK) without one, and it is closed on Mondays.
The Discover card covers entry and the journey. It is worth being straight about the scale of the saving.
A single-artist museum in Rødovre, west of Copenhagen, devoted to Henry Heerup and the scrap he made sculpture out of. An hour is plenty.
Heerup made work from what he found — metal, stone, discarded objects — decades before that was a movement. The pieces are small, odd and entirely unlike the Danish art in the city-centre galleries.
Bright, flat and folkloric, with a recurring cast of figures. He was associated with the CoBrA circle without quite belonging to it, and the collection makes that position clear.
One artist, one building, one hour. On a card day that has already taken in something enormous, a museum of this size is a relief rather than a compromise.
Worth being honest about what the card saves here, and about when the door is open. Confirmed against heerup.dk and the 2026 Copenhagen museums folder.
Rødovre, about twenty minutes west of Copenhagen by train. The journey is on the Discover card.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
One of the oldest zoos in Europe, with the Arctic Ring polar bear tunnel and Norman Foster’s Elephant House.
A drained drinking-water reservoir under Søndermarken, given over to one large installation at a time.
The old Carlsberg brewery reopened as a museum of the company, the family and Danish brewing. Includes a drink.
Entry is €9 per adult (70 DKK) without a card, and the train out is covered too. The Discover card includes both, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport.
Entry is free on the Copenhagen Card Discover, which also covers the train to Rødovre. Adult admission without a card is €9 (70 DKK) — the lowest of any venue with a guide on this site — with seniors and students at 45 DKK and under-16s free.
The Heerup Museum closes every Monday and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm. The 4pm close is early, so this works as a morning visit rather than something to add at the end of a day. Copenhagen Zoo on the way back opens every day.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the desk and walk in. The train to Rødovre is covered on the same card.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single visit per card. Given the admission is only 70 DKK, the scan is worth less here than almost anywhere else on the card — visit because the work interests you rather than to make the maths work.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
