ENIGMA is included on the Discover card. Adult entry is €19 (140 DKK) without one, and it is closed on Mondays.
The Discover card covers full entry. What the Hop card does is a separate question, and not one anyone has answered.
Two hundred years of communication technology in one building at Østerbro, from the mail coach to the network you are reading this on. Allow an hour and a half.
The museum holds the oldest surviving ENIGMA cipher machine and takes its name from it. Most people know the machine from the war; seeing an early one, before any of that, puts it in a different frame entirely.
Post, telegraph, telephone, radio, television and the internet treated as one continuous story rather than separate technologies. It is a better argument than it sounds, and the objects carry it.
A good deal of the collection is meant to be operated rather than looked at, which makes it a straightforward stop with older children — see our guide to the card with kids below.
One thing here is confirmed and one is not, and this page keeps them apart. Confirmed against enigma.dk and the 2026 Copenhagen museums folder.
Østerbro, by Trianglen on the M3. Five minutes from the metro and well inside the city.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
A tobacco manufacturer's private collection of nineteenth-century Danish art, kept small and hung as he intended it, in Østre Anlæg.
Danish working life since the 1870s, inside the Workers' Assembly Building the labour movement built for itself in 1879.
Denmark's national art collection, from the old masters through the Danish Golden Age to contemporary work in the glass wing.
Entry is €19 per adult (140 DKK) without a card. The Discover card includes it, along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport across the Capital Region.
The Discover card covers full entry, including the permanent galleries and the ENIGMA machine itself. Adult admission without a card is €19 (140 DKK). Whether the Hop card covers ENIGMA has not been established either way — ask at the desk if you hold one.
ENIGMA closes every Monday, all year, and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. The Workers Museum near Nørreport opens every day and is the closest Monday substitute if your only free day falls on one.
Nothing needs booking. Show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the desk and walk in — there is no timed entry here.
One scan per attraction applies, so this is a single visit per card. Children are charged by age rather than admitted free, so a family visit costs something even where the adults are covered — 85 DKK for ages 11 to 17 and 55 DKK for ages 3 to 10.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
