The Classic Canal Tour is included on both cards. It costs €27 (199 DKK) without one. Card holders must board at Ved Stranden 26 — boarding elsewhere carries a surcharge.
One specific tour, from one specific quay. Both of those matter more here than on any other card attraction.
An hour on the water covering ground that would take most of a day on foot, and several things you cannot see properly from land at all.
The canals the district was built around, with houseboats, moored wooden vessels and the spiral spire of the Church of Our Saviour above them. The boats go where the streets do not.
The Opera House and the Black Diamond face each other across the water, and the route runs between them. Both read as buildings from the harbour in a way they do not from the quay.
She faces the water, so the boat gives you the view the statue was placed for — rather than the back of her head, which is what the crowd on the promenade gets.
The one thing that will cost you money if you get it wrong is where you board. Confirmed against stromma.com and the card issuer's own attraction page.
Central, on the canal opposite Christiansborg. The tour is on both cards; only the journey there differs.
It covers Canal Tours Copenhagen along with 80+ other attractions and all public transport.
Only going here? The card pays for itself across several attractions, not one. If Canal Tours Copenhagen is the only thing on your list, a single ticket is the cheaper buy.
All three are included on the same card, so the only cost of adding them is the time. For the full list, see every attraction the Copenhagen Card covers.
A changing programme of art and photography in the building on the quay, right where the boats leave from. Small and easy to fit around a departure time.
The state rooms still used by the Royal Family, across the canal on Slotsholmen. The Tower beside them is free to everyone.
Neoclassical marble in a building designed around the collection, with painted ceilings and ochre walls. The sculptor is buried in the courtyard.
The Classic Tour is €27 per adult (199 DKK at the quay) without a card. Both cards include it — remember to board at Ved Stranden 26 — along with 80+ more attractions and unlimited public transport.
The Stromma Classic Tour is free on both the Discover and Hop cards, and costs €27 (199 DKK walk-up) without one. Card holders must board at Ved Stranden 26 — boarding at Nyhavn carries a surcharge, and Netto-Bådene is a different operator the card does not cover.
Canal tours run every day of the year, Mondays included, which makes them a reliable Monday plan when most card museums are shut. Winter boats are covered and heated, though some afternoon departures run after dark between November and February.
Nothing needs booking. Turn up at Ved Stranden 26, show the QR code in the Copenhagen Card app and board the next Classic Tour. Departures are frequent enough that a wait is usually short, and the exhibition space at Gammel Strand is two minutes away if it is not.
One scan per attraction applies, so the canal tour is a single sailing per card. The tour runs about an hour and takes in Christianshavn, the harbour front and the Little Mermaid, so there is little reason to repeat it.
Show the live QR code in the Copenhagen Card app at the entrance and let staff scan it. Your booking confirmation email is not your card, and a screenshot of the QR code will not scan — it has to be the app itself, which works offline once activated.
